Crispy Kale Chips

March 06, 2023

Kale is a nutritious food rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin K, and beta-carotene. It contains nutrients that benefit your eye health, weight management, and heart health. What's more - it is very easy to find in the supermarket.

At our home, Maya and Sylvie love the crispy kale chips - not just for its flavor and texture, but it's also fun to make it!

Ingredients

  • Organic curly or Lacinato (dino) Kale: 1 bunch
  • Salt: pinch
  • Olive Oil: 1 tablespoons
  • Roasted white sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300o F
  • Remove kale leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces
  • Wash and THOROUGHLY dry the leaves
  • Drizzle kale leaves with olive oil and salt, and toss well to combine.
  • Spread out on a baking sheet, no overlapping.
  • Bake until the edges turn lightly brown, around 20 minutes. Flip the leaves if desire, until all leaves turn crispy. Don't over bake.
  • (Optional) Use a small pan to roast some white sesame seeds on the stovetop with low heat. Sprinkle the roasted sesame on the kale chips before serving.

Tips: Organic kale is the best option since kale is ranked #3 on the Dirty Dozen list according to ewg.org due to high amount of pesticides.

Enjoy!
