BCAAs - Support for muscle protein synthesis

Dr. Morrison's Branched-Chain Amino Acid (BCAAs) powder is a clean, high-quality formula to help support muscle protein synthesis and reduce temporary muscle soreness after exercise.*

Contains: 7.72 oz (219 g), about 30 1-scoop servings

What are Branched-Chain Amino Acids?

BCAA refers to three essential amino acids (building blocks of protein): leucine, isoleucine, and valine. These three aminos make up about 35% of your body's muscle protein!

We call them "essential" amino acids because our bodies don't make them on their own - we have to consume them, either through our diet or with supplements.

While most amino acids are broken down in the liver, BCAAs are metabolized primarily in muscle, so they're thought to help improve exercise performance and help reduce muscle breakdown.

Benefits of BCAAs:

  • Provide fuel for skeletal muscles during training*
  • Helps preserve glycogen stores during workouts, leaving more fuel for your muscles, especially with endurance activities*
  • Support post-workout muscle recovery*

The Journal of Nutrition reported in 2006:

"The results obtained showed that BCAA supplementation prior to squat exercise decreased DOMS and muscle fatigue occurring for a few days after exercise. These findings suggest that BCAAs may be useful for muscle recovery following exercise."

What makes Dr. Morrison's BCAA formula unique?

  • Formulated with a 2:1:1 ratio of leucine to isoleucine to valine, the same ratio that can be found naturally in skeletal muscle.
    • In the 1990s, animal studies demonstrated that the 2:1:1 ratio is ideal for supporting muscle tissue metabolism.*
  • Delicious orange mango flavor
  • Non-GMO, gluten-free, vegetarian

How to use it:

Blend, shake, or briskly stir 1 scoop (7.3 g) into 8 oz of chilled water before and after exercise or with a meal as directed by your healthcare provider.

Can be taken before, during, or after exercise. Best when used in conjunction with a healthy and balanced diet. Want to make sure you're eating the best diet for your individual needs and goals? Schedule a session with one of our nutritionists for personalized guidance and recommendations.
