Coptis (Coptis chinensis) Root & Rhizome 12:1 Extract

A root extract used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat diarrhea and digestive distress. It contains berberine, which may account for its therapeutic effects on the digestive tract.* It is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Oregon Grape (Berberis aquifolium) Root 4:1 Extract

Another natural source of berberine, oregon grape is an herb native to the north western region of the United States. Due to its berberine content, it is traditionally used to stimulate digestion, relieve spasms, and for its antimicrobial properties.

Berberine HCl

Berberine itself is a widely-studied alkaloid — an plant-based organic compound with physiological effects on humans — repeatedly recognized for its beneficial impacts throughout the body, including:

  • Antimicrobial effects in the GI tract — including action against small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
  • Anti-tumor properties
