Summer is an amazing time to appreciate the abundance of nature. Whether one is indulging in the bounty of summer harvests or cookouts, it’s the perfect time to take some time for self care. We recommend focusing on liver restoring and rejuvenating strategies.
Balance your meal plan
Aim for an anti-inflammatory meal plan that is kind to your liver. What does that look like? Eat more antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables (i.e. berries, beets, carrots, sprouts), lean proteins (i.e. chicken, turkey, small fish), healthy fats (i.e. avocado, eggs, walnuts), and fiber-dense carbohydrates (i.e. steel cut oats, cassava, okra, chia seeds). You can jumpstart this lifestyle with the Daily Benefit Detox set.
Exercise regularly to burn fat (i.e. triglycerides) for energy and avoid accumulating liver fat. Opt for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 days a week.
Check your household items
The Environmental Working Group’s databases offer amazing tools to help you determine if your household products contain as few toxins as possible. You can check cosmetics, cleaning products, personal care products, and even food and water!
